With this guided tour you can visit one of the most famous churches in Verona:

  • SANTA ANASTASIA: built in the 1290 on an ancient temple, with its romanesque frescos (the most famous one is "St. George and the Princess"by Pisanello
  • the CATHEDRAL, build on an ancient Christian basilica, rebuild after the earthquake in the 1117.
  • SAN GIORGIO IN BRAIDA, with its famous painting "St. George martyrdom" by Paolo Veronese
  • SANTO STEFANO, one of the best example of romanesque architecture in Verona
Then we can get to "Veronetta", a pictoresque quarter, where the Austrians lived after the Luneville "trattato" when Verona was divided into two parts: the city centre belongs to French and Veronetta to Austrians.
There are beautiful old palaces and a some interesting churches such as S. MARIA IN ORGANO and S. NAZZARO
